Current Actions

Through the VOICE Action Fund, we fight for issues that are important to Oklahoma Families. Check out what we are working on now!

COVID Response & Healthcare

  • Address local debt and loss of income with measures such as renter & landlord relief, and ending collection of medical and court-related debt.
  • Aid consumers trapped by debt, such as suspension of student loan payments, a 36% cap on payday loans, and protecting any relief payments from being seized by debt collectors.
  • Protect our communities through measures like suspending evictions, foreclosures, and utility shutoffs for homeowners, renters, religious institutions, and nonprofit organizations for the duration of the COVID crisis.

Education

  • Assure that Oklahoma schools, already critically underfunded, have the resources needed to effectively and safely provide both virtual and in-person classes that keep our children, staff and teachers safe.

Criminal Justice Reform

  • Move the state away from dependence on fines and fees on indigent individuals for its criminal justice infrastructure.
  • Remove ICE officers from the county jail and ensure no 287(g) program is authorized in Oklahoma County.
  • Improve the relationship between the immigrant community and law enforcement through such measures as the creation of a local ID accepted at the discretion of officers.
